History

There was little known information about his and Edermask's life up until Chapter 360. However, In these chapters it is explained that Edermask and Janus's real names are Arumio and Nenomious. They are twin brothers who lost their family to the Aruman's during war near their home town Onbuzuka. After being heavily injured as well, they soon collapsed and not too long after, were picked up and cared for by an old man named Delil. He introduces himself as a magician of Onbuzuka, however was originally from Corba, a nearby town similar to their own. He is also Captain to one of the countries soon to face Aruman in the war.

Before trusting Delil as their Master to learn from and soon after traveling with him to his country, the twins make a life-long promise to end war everywhere. This promise proves to be a determining factor in the majority of their decisions even after meeting a young girl of their age named Natasha. Arumio (Janus) Instantly falls in love with Natasha, who is also the the princess to the country they soon call home and live in for the majority of their childhood. Both twins soon grow to be incredibly strong, however while Nenomious (Edermask) preserves a more passive lifestyle with reading and studying theories, his younger brother Arumio (Janus) prefers a more aggressive solution to their promise. This is probably due to the fact that Arumio (Janus) far surpasses his older brother in terms of pure talent. He soon surpasses his master (Delil) as well.

Janus continues to further his solution to end war by creating war. His solution includes taking over the world and unifying them under one power in order to cease war altogether. This aggressive view also sacrifices many lives due to the fact that there would be need for war until Canterra is unified. He brings this matter up with his Master, whom refuses his idea and further prevents him from speaking with the King about it. This enrages Arumio (Janus) to the point where he walks off in a huff to meet with Natashia and Nenomious (Edermask). During this meeting, he sees his master heading off to see the king not even hours after he had spoken with him. He rushes off to go with him, however his master instead chooses to have his older brother meet with the King. This of course, only fuels his rage. As seen later after his older brother returns and explains the event, Arumio (Janus) confronts his brother in a fit of rage and accuses his brother of forgetting their promise. The two argue for a period of time before Natasha disturbs their conversation and both boys end up at ends from that point on.

During their time in this country, both boys continue to be at ends, only growing further and further apart and to add to this mix, Natasha becomes afraid of Arumio (Janus). She spends far more time with his Older brother Nenomious (Edermask), which makes Arumio (Janus) jealous. However, the twins and Natasha are not given much time to venture into jealous fits, for the Aruman army takes quick action and sends both sides into war. During this war, the twins fought bravely and proved as assets to their side, but ultimately suffered defeat to the Aruman army. Their master dies and the King is slaughtered, leaving only the three left surviving (Natashia, Arumio, and Nenomious.) During their immediate escape with their master's body, Arumio (Janus) blames his older brother's passive actions for their master's death and disappears to serve under other kings and nations who are soon to face the Arumans. Each Kingdom he visits however, soon falls to the Aruman army and leaves him as the last survivor. As time progresses, his infamous feats are heard by each new kingdom and proves to make trust between them much more difficult. Even so, his infamy grows as each side he is with, falls to the Aruman army, one after another. He becomes ferociously enraged during his last confrontation with the Aruman army and barely manages to escape with his life. He travels across to where his older brother currently lives with sheer willpower alone, only to collapse just outside the house. He is taken in and provided with first aid by his older brother and Natashia, but wakes up only to reject their hospitality. He later finds the recipe to immortality and confronts a neighboring King about it. He is rejected harshly and soon finds himself as an outcast once more. After 5 years pass, he then returns to his Older brothers home, where his older brother questions his new hair color (White.) He in turn, casts a spell on his brother to make him immortal, but takes the life force from Natashia to do so. He leaves the now "sleeping" Natashia and his unconscious older brother to their own devices, so that he may judge who will be right in the end.

It can be safely say however that before using the Immortality spell to himself he was afflicted with some sort of illness or disablity as he was about to be visited by both Natasha and Edermask during Edermask's dream or recollection on the Forest of Truth.

300 years before the start of the main storyline, he was said to have saved the country of Teodore against Edermask when the latter went into a rampage to kill the magicians there. The truth to this event is yet to be revealed. However, this event led to the hunt for Edermask and for the rise of Janus' political infuence on the monarchy of Theodore as he served as an adviser to the kings of Theodore for more than 300 years although not revealing his existence to the public. He however proved to be the one who have the political power only having the kings as his puppets.
